Instrument
of Your Peace Prayer by St.
Francis of Assisi
Lord, make me an instrument of
your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love,
Where there is injury, pardon
Where there is doubt, faith,
Where there is despair, hope,
Where there is darkness, light,
Where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so
much
seek to be consoled as to console,
not so much to be understood as to
understand,
not so much to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
it is in dying that we awake to eternal
life.

Old-Time Hymn: Leaning
on the Everlasting Arms
A hymn published in 1887 with music by Anthony J.
Showalter and lyrics by Showalter and Elisha Hoffman.
1 What a fellowship, what a joy
divine,
leaning on the everlasting arms;
what a blessedness, what a peace is mine,
leaning on the everlasting arms.
Refrain:
Leaning on Jesus, leaning on Jesus,
safe and secure from all alarms;
leaning on Jesus, leaning on Jesus,
leaning on the everlasting arms.
2 Oh, how sweet to walk in this pilgrim way,
leaning on the everlasting arms;
Oh, how bright the path grows from day to day,
leaning on the everlasting arms. [Refrain]
3 What have I to dread, what have I to fear,
leaning on the everlasting arms?
I have blessed peace with my Lord so near,
leaning on the everlasting arms. [Refrain]

to the previous lesson's puzzle: Jesus answered him, "Get behind me
Satan! For it is written 'You shall you shall
worship the Lord your God, and you shall serve
Him only.'"
